One of the most integral standards in the ELICOS Standards 2018 is Standard 3 TEACHING ELICOS. This webinar analyses this Standard in depth. The webinar explores the policies and procedures that need to be in place to ensure compliance with the Standard. The webinar also explores continuous improvement strategies and how to easily and efficiently record evidence of continuous improvement within the ELICOS Department. Record-keeping, placement-testing and a range of other factors are also explored.
By the end of this workshop, participants will have the knowledge and skills to:
- Develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Standard 3 of the ELICOS Standards 2018
- Conduct effective placement tests
- Address individual student’s learning needs
- Efficiently implement strategies to record continuous improvement
Facilitated by: Lana Harasymiv
Lana Harasymiv has worked in education for 25 years with most of that time spent in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) education, including 12 years teaching and managing TESOL programs in Japan. She has worked as Director of Studies of both VET and English programs and has extensive experience in preparing both VET and ELICOS courses for accreditation and addition to scope. She is also experienced in successfully preparing RTOs for audits, including re-registration audits. She holds a Masters in Arts (TESOL) and two post-graduate diplomas in education. She is currently employed as the Director of Studies of English Programs, managing both ELICOS and foundation skill EAL programs.
