Revised delegation to Indonesia 19 - 24 April 2015

Working with the Indonesian Association of Private Higher Education Institutions (APTISI), ACPET is seeking EOIs from members for a proposed delegation to Indonesia during the week of 19-24 April 2015.

On the back of a successful visit to Indonesia in 2014, the Delegation which will be led by a senior ACPET Officer, aims to introduce members to the exciting opportunities that exist across Indonesia for partnerships in delivering education and training and promote awareness in Indonesia of Australia’s quality private education and training sector. This would also include invitations to Indonesian industry to attend for those ACPET members that are looking to form specific partnerships with industry.

The Delegation will build on the work ACPET has pursued over the last decade in actively promoting cooperative relationships through skills development in the Asia-Pacific region through staging the Asia Pacific International Education Forum (APIEF), which last year featured participation from its counterpart organisation in Indonesia, the Indonesian Association of Private Higher Education Institutions (APTISI). APTISI represents over 3,000 private universities, academies and polytechnics throughout Indonesia and has strong links to Indonesian government and industry stakeholders.

ACPET will be working closely with APTISI, and the Australian Government to facilitate introductions for participants to Indonesian institutions and industry interested in partnering with Australian education and training providers to support skills development in Indonesia in priority areas of significant growth.

The agenda will include (subject to change):

• Market briefing
• Indonesian Government dialogue –understanding Indonesia’s education system and priorities
• Welcome networking reception
• Briefing on education opportunities in Indonesia for Australian providers (APTISI)
• ACPET-APTISI roundtable
• Business-to-business matching
• site visits
• agent meetings

The agenda will be built according to member requirements and interests from EOI responses. Depending on the number and type of member interest it is envisaged that the delegation will visit Jakarta and Bali over a period of 4-5 days. The cost for forming part of this delegation will be $2,500 (plus GST). This excludes accommodation and air fares.

While expressions of interest are encouraged from any ACPET members who wish to explore or expand opportunities in Indonesia, we have identified a number of areas of significant demand, including tourism and hospitality, nursing, aviation, child and aged care.

It would be useful for EOIs if you could provide a brief background on:

  • Experience in international engagement and export of training, making it clear whether such experience is primarily in student recruitment and/or offshore delivery.
  • Capacity to deliver (non-award) training offshore (note experience delivering offshore is not necessary).
  • Your institution’s areas of specialisation and how these are relevant to Indonesia’s training needs.
  • Your interest in and long-term commitment to working in Indonesia.
  • Any particular areas or interests you would wish to pursue while in Indonesia with the Delegation.

Please note that ACPET is also working with APTISI to bring out a delegation from Indonesia to Australia in late August 2015 to coincide with ACPET’s 2015 International Conference.
