USI - streamlining student records for the future

Monday, December 15 2014

USIs are not required before 1 January 2015! But it makes sense to get ready for your student enrolments and reporting now.

From 1 January 2015, the USI will become the key building block that supports more targeted training for the needs of Australian industry.

To help achieve this, students enrolling or re-enrolling into nationally recognised training, delivered by Australian-registered training organisations, will need to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) before they can be issued with their Certificate of Attainment.

So far, more than 170,000 USIs have been created! So, the USI Registry System is ready for students to create their USIs and for training organisations to create USIs on behalf of their students (with their students’ permission).

Need help?  The USI Help Centre is a great resource for getting ready for the USI and includes a User Guide for training organisations!
