Gen Green report and Webinar re needs of trainees/ apprentices for Green Skills

The International Green Skills Network will be running a one hour webinar presented by Dr Fabian Sack exploring the findings of the Gen Green 4 Australia survey. Fabian will present the needs and demands from trainees and apprentices around sustainability and green skills. Over 1,000 people were surveyed in 2013/14, which included teachers as well. Their thoughts and considerations around training for sustainability are explored and analysed. Learn about what your students expect from you in training and education in regards to social, economic and environmental sustainability.

Topics to be covered will include:

• Skills for sustainability policy context
• National VET student demand for skills for sustainability in 2014
• Trends in the practice of environmental skills at work & in class
• Barriers experienced to teaching skills for sustainability
• Gender and age differences in teaching, learning and utilisation of skills for sustainability
