Good Morning Everyone.

I am very happy to report that we continue to have good numbers enrolling for the ACPET Conference and APIEF. It is particularly important for me being from Western Australia to see the Conference here be a success. There are some iconic venues being used, the Western  Australian Cricket Association, Little Creatures Brewery and the Esplanade Hotel in Fremantle, and the program is looking exciting but also covering some critical topics in today’s education and training environment. Above all it should be very enjoyable.

The number of international delegates registering is also very encouraging. We have a significant delegation from China, delegates from Indonesia, Bangladesh, the United States, India, Singapore and New Zealand all confirmed.  We also have speakers for Austrade and the International Education Departments. The increasing importance of international trends in education and training will make this part of the program very important.

Last week I mentioned that I would be placing some interesting documents from ASQA on our website in the Member Only section. These documents are there and I hope you have taken the opportunity to access them.
I am in the process of negotiating a news feed service and newsletter which will also be accessible on the Member Only section exclusively. I will keep you aware of progress in the coming weeks.

For members in Victoria, Queensland and the Northern Territory, the election process for your Board Directors in these areas has commenced. Unfortunately the advice from Elections Australia has again come out looking like junk mail. It is sent from “mail@myvote” and has no logo or letterhead. Please look out for the advice. If you have difficulty please let your State office know or email acpet@acpet.edu.au.  I assure you this is the last time this will happen this way. Please support your organisation and exercise your vote.

Enjoy your week and later this week we hope to have more information about ACPET’s approach to supporting the development of a more competitive higher education environment in Australia.
