Showcasing graduate employability

A national grant has recently been awarded by the Office for Learning and Teaching to study best practice strategies and emerging innovations to improve employability of higher education graduates.

The institutions collaborating on the project comprise of ACPET, Bond University, James Cook University and the University of Southern Queensland.

The project addresses how educators and employers can best support graduate employability, by focusing on the employability of higher education graduates from the disciplines of humanities, visual/performing arts, life sciences and computer science.

As part of the project, we are looking for success stories about innovations that have resulted in a ‘dream’ job for one of your graduates. Members are encouraged to share their success stories. If you have made a strong contribution to employability, or you have supported the knowledge, skills and attributes that lead to career success for your graduates, why not share your success story with us and with other higher education practitioners. ACPET’s Senior Researcher, Dr Laura Hougaz, will be capturing the success stories from ACPET members.  I encourage you to contact Laura by email to discuss this project and provide case studies to promote your Institution and your students success.

Recognising the diversity and quality of ACPET members

ACPET CEO, Claire Field, recently addressed a large audience of higher education leaders and practitioners in Melbourne, at the Higher Education Compliance and Quality Network (HECQN) Forum entitled “The Quirks of Compliance. The Quest for Quality”. Claire’s presentation, ‘Recognising diversity and quality in private higher education’, provided an overview of the non-university higher education sector in Australia, focusing on diversity and quality, and the flexible and responsive approach offered by ACPET members. The presentation included data from a research report commissioned by ACPET, highlighting the relative growth of the private higher education sector in the past few years.

The presentation may be viewed by clicking here.
