VET Investment Framework and related program update and information on Visa reforms – Alice Springs today

The Department of Trade, Business and Innovation and ACPET have previously circulated advices on a series of briefings that are being conducted in Darwin and Alice Springs. The Darwin briefing last Thursday was well represented and feedback was that RTOs are looking forward to partaking in a number of support activities proposed by the department, namely aligned to the mandated practitioner TAE upgrades and an opportunity to participate in an assessment Masterclass. Watch this space.

Publication: Good Practice in VET teaching and Learning - a practitioner perspective.

The Victorian Government has produced a guide that provides information about, and examples of, good practice in teaching and learning for VET providers. While there are references to the Victorian experience, this is a most practical and useful resource and is recommended reading for RTOs and practitioners nationally.

The guide incorporates information on lndicators of quality, assessing learner needs, developing the Training and Assessment Strategy, program improvement and delivery, the assessment process,  learner engagement, workforce development, vocational and professional currency as well as performance development and review processes.
