PD opportunity and - explaining the NT VET Investment Framework this Thursday

The Department of Trade, Business and Innovation has previously circulated advices on a series of information briefings of importance to RTOs. The Darwin briefing is planned for the afternoon of Thursday 10 May from 4pm and will include updates for both industry and RTOs. There will be a further session in Alice Springs next Monday afternoon.  RTOs with an interest in understanding those programs that offer government funds to support skilling programs aligned to workforce development are encouraged to attend these sessions.

As a value add to the afternoon, ACPET will be hosting a session on designing Training and Assessment Strategies (TAS) for practitioners from 1.30 pm until 3.30pm at the venue in The Avenues complex in Salonika Street.

This session will focus on highlighting the key requirements in creating TAS documentation, unpacking the five fundamentals of TAS development and will provide a workshop opportunity to compare and contrast different TAS documents to identify areas for continuous improvement in your own practices.

Registration ito the PD session is through the ACPET professional development web portal or just email michael.hall@acpet.edu.au Investment for the session is $50 for members and $70 for non-members. There is no charge for the briefing sessions.

Reminder: please bring a copy of your institution’s TAS documentation for the PD session.

GTNT Merv Hughes fund raiser for Timor Leste schools

Some 90 odd (some odder than others) cricket tragics, industry leaders, training providers and VIPs indulged in a repast most fine courtesy of The Cavanagh Hotel as cricket legend Merv Hughes regaled us with tall tales and true from the pitch.

A most rewarding afternoon that raised almost $5000 for the GTNT Foundation. Well done to the GTNT team.
