GTNT charity lunch with Merv Hughes Wednesday 2 May

For the sporting challenged, Merv Hughes is a big-hearted fast bowler who ultimately made a major contribution to Australia's cricketing fortunes. A crowd favourite, he is a lively character who had an imposing run-up and delivery action, a classic fast bowlers' glare down the pitch, a mischievous sense of humour and a moustache of incredible proportions ...and a heart to match.
Over the years, apart from as passion for fishing in the NT Merv continues to ne active with a number of charities.  Booking are now open for an all-inclusive lunch with Merv Hughes at the Cavanagh Hotel with $20 from every ticket going to the GNT Foundation assisting children in Timor Leste where for just $130 you can keep a child at school for a year.
To book please ring the Cav on 89416383 or email sales@the cavenagh.com

Darwin Student Hub – an invitation for interested providers to assist with staffing

While CDU is currently staffing the Darwin Student Hub full-time, ACPET would like to encourage our CRICOS registered provider’s to commit to providing staff at the Hub for ½ day to 1 day a week, where feasible for your organisation.

This will give you/your staff the opportunity to interact directly with students as they enjoy the facilities on offer at the Hub. If you are interested in having regular staff at the Hub, you can contact Margaret Waterson-James directly on Margaret.Waterson-James@cdu.edu.au  Thank you to those providers who have already committed to contribute staff at the Hub.

In addition, if you are planning any upcoming events for students, and would like to use the Hub (free-of-charge) please complete the online booking form https://darwinstudenthub.youcanbook.me/ to book your time.

For after-hours bookings email info@darwinstudenthub.com.au. For those providers who have yet to provide marketing material/collateral to the Hub, please feel free to drop some off either at the Hub directly or to StudyNT and we will ensure it’s displayed at the Hub, this can include course information, student accommodation, employment opportunities, events and pull-up banners.

ACPET NT is pleased to advise that we are party to a Funding Agreement with the Department of Trade, Business and Innovation for the delivery of International Student at Home in the NT information sessions.  These sessions will be hosted regularly at the Darwin Student Hub or other suitable venues to show our new temporary residents some of the highlights of the NT with an introduction to aboriginal and local Aussie customs, to imbibe in some traditional fare, to be advised of life in the NT and some pointers on safety and wellbeing as well as a chance to meet and greet with some locals.
We look forward to being able to promote the NT and to also help these student to acclimatise to this great Territory. Any providers who may wish to assist are welcome to contact michael.hall@acpet.edu.au or 0438463598.
