New ASQA Commissioner

Late last week assistant skills minister Karen Andrews announced the appointment of Irene Ioannakis as the new commissioner with the national training regulator, ASQA.

“She will enhance the capacity of ASQA to effectively and efficiently protect students, employers and the public against providers that don’t meet high quality standards,” said assistant skills minister Karen Andrews.

Irene Ioannakis joins ASQA after being with the WA Regulator, the Training Accreditation Council (TAC) for many years, she also has experience in running RTOs.
