Local students awarded New Colombo Plan Scholarships
Monday, December 5 2016
Congratulations to Charles Darwin University students Katie Hicks and Anna McKenzie who are both recipients of the current round of New Colombo Plan Scholarships. These Territory students will now have an opportunity to live and learn offshore supported by scholarships capped at $72,500 each. While Katie will undertake an internship in the field of community services in Fiji, Anna will undertake further studies in Hong Kong.
Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop congratulated all 105 recipients at a function in Canberra last week. The New Colombo Plan is an Australian Government initiative which involves a scholarship and grants program that allows Aussie undergraduates to study and work in more than 30 host locations through the Indo Pacific.
