Industry at the Crossroads - ACPET conference debates to shape the future of tertiary education

Well-known journalist Quentin Dempster will kick off the Big Debate on the Future architecture of tertiary education in Australia, challenging key panellists to express their frank and open perspectives and inviting input from the floor.
Come and hear great speakers, such as Professor Ian Harper, Chair of the Competition Policy Review, give his scorecard on the current state of affairs measured against competition and choice.
Dr Subho Banerjee, Deputy Secretary, Skills and Training, on the Department’s views of where the sector is heading.
Key representatives of private and public providers on how the system is impacting on them and what needs to change.
Catherine Caruana McManus will present a vision of the future of technology and the implications of digital disruption for the workforce.
A panel of industry experts will reflect on what employers need from education and training providers to develop the future workforce, to innovate and to transition the economy towards prosperity.
Other panellists will discuss issues around quality, accountability and standards, while other speakers debate the future of contestability and current issues around funding in tertiary education and much more.
Todd Russell, survivor of the Beaconsfield mine disaster, will inspire you with his story - ‘Drawing Strength from Adversity’
At APIEF, International speakers such as Meera Shenoy, Founder Youth4Jobs and local speakers will explore collaborative approaches to transnational education. International guests will share observations of their own country’s 'Trends, Traumas and Touch Points' of commonality with Australia.
