International Student Welcome at Parliament House

Monday, February 29 2016

Hundreds of international students studying in Darwin were all VIPs at the second Welcome to the NT function held in the Grand Hall of Darwin’s Parliament House.

Students had an opportunity to mingle with local dignitaries, including Territory Administrator His Honour the Honourable John Hardy OAM and Mrs Hardy. Lord Mayor Katrina Fong Lim and Minister John Elfrerink MLA.

Students were officially welcomed by Study NT General Manager Mark Darby and had an opportunity to also meet with their home country consular officials and friends.

It was great to see ACPET members front and Centre, with David Cannon (The Essington School), Navitas and Olivia Philips of BCA and local ACPET Director Sean Mahoney wearing his ICAE hat.

It’s pleasing to see the growth in numbers each year – the international student market in Darwin in particular is well positioned to surge over coming years.
