The Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET) was advised on 15 December 2011 of the activation of the Tuition Assurance Scheme (TAS) process for Uniworld Business College and Uniworld English College due to their inability of the college to continue delivering courses to students.
ACPET manages the TAS of which this college was a member.
Shortly ACPET will be providing students with information on how they can be assisted via the ACPET TAS. Our priority is to assist students with a suitable alternative placement as soon as possible.
A student meeting has been organised to inform you of your rights and responsibilities under the legislation, see details below. ACPET will inform you at this meeting of the ways ACPET can assist you.
This meeting is for students of this college only. NO agents/relatives/friends will be allowed entry. If you are under 18 years of age you are allowed to bring your parent/guardian.
To be allowed entry into this Student Meeting you must bring photo ID (e.g. student ID card).
Note: If you did not have a student ID with the college you will need to bring photo ID (e.g. passport) AND evidence that you were a student of this college (e.g. CoE, receipts).

Every student who requires assistance MUST complete a Relocation Request Form and return it to ACPET by the date specified on the form. The form is handed out at the student meeting and is then available online one day after the meeting. It can also be emailed to you after the meeting if you send a request to the designated ACPET inbox.
For more information on the process of relocation please visit the FAQs page here.
The Department of Immigration and Citizenship is aware of the closure of your college and will respond to your enquiries. Please contact Immigration with your queries on visa issues on 13 18 81. A list of immigration offices can be found at: http://www.immi.gov.au/contacts/australia/index.htm
Under the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) 2010, RTOs are required to have a student management data base that has the capacity to provide the regulatory body with AVETMISS compliant data. ACPET will request from the state regulatory body to supply ACPET with student data to assist us in relocating students to a suitable alternative course.
Overseas Student TAS (OSTAS)
The Scheme ensures that international students displaced from any course conducted by an ACPET member participating in OSTAS, due to the member's inability to continue the course, will be efficiently relocated with minimal disruption to studies in a comparable course with another ACPET member participating in OSTAS or other approved provider.
