acpet state forum gold coast 12 & 13 april 2010 with avetra and apaie

National Monday Update Issue:

The ACPET State Forum 2010 will be conducted over two days at the Sofitel Broadbeach on the 12th & 13th April. The format will be similar to previous years, where members, industry partners and stakeholders will discuss a broad range of issues of relevance to the Secondary Education, VET, English Language and Higher Education. Members and other interested persons are invited to submit papers and presentations for this forum.

April will be a busy time on the Gold Coast. AVETRA – The Australian Vocational Education and Training Research Association – will be having their annual conference on 8 & 9 April. This conference is expected to attract over 200 participants with practitioners and researchers presenting their research and will explore the way in which VET Research can lead or respond in turbulent times.
Two international and three Australian keynote speakers, some symposia, over 70 papers and a series of social networking events will be presented over two days. Workshops will also precede the conference and many opportunities are available to networking.

Following on from the ACPET Forum the following Monday and Tuesday, APAIE – The Asia Pacific Association of International Education Administrators – is holding their international conference at the Gold Coast Convention Centre from 14-16 April.

APAIE is an organization for international educators, governments, service providers and peak bodies committed to developing collaboration and co-operation between educational institutions to promote all aspects of education in the Asia-Pacific region.
Approximately 700 international educators from over 300 institutions in 50 countries are expected to attend the Conference, including Presidents and Vice Presidents from many of Asia-Pacific’s leading universities.

In light of these activities, should there be sufficient interest ACPET is considering organizing a day at the Southport Races on Saturday the 10th and or a cruise on the Broadwater on Sunday 11th.

Please mark these dates in your diary now.
