Australian Capital Territory

Training.gov.au has now gone live and has replaced the National Training Information Service (NTIS) as the National Register, for the National Training System.

Partnerships between Employers and Tertiary Education conference will bring experts from leading businesses and the tertiary education sector together to identify new methods for strengthening cross-sector collaboration to increase graduate employability.

Careers Advisors Association of NSW (CAANSW) has its new website up and running. It can help to keep careers advisers informed about your institution.

The NSW Government's Jobs Action Plan commenced on 1 July 2011 and is available to employers who are registered for payroll tax and who are creating new jobs.

Tasmania

Finalists for the prestigious 2011 Tasmanian Training Awards have now been announced and are available from here.

The Minister for Education and Skills, Nick McKim announced today that senior Treasury official, Dr Chrissie Berryman has been appointed to the position of General Manager, SkillsTasmania.

Victoria

August is Small Business Festival Month in Victoria, where over 400 events are scheduled to support Victoria’s small businesses.

As part of the 2011 VIC Small Business Festival, and in collaboration with AusTrade, ACPET ran the successful Business Growth and Diversity Through Overseas Education Projects professional development workshop last week.

Western Australia

The Commonwealth Business Forum (CBF) will be held in Perth on 25-27 October, just prior to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) on 28-30 October this year.

As I am new to my Executive Officer role with ACPET, I am now planning the next 12 month and into the next 5 years, PD and events calendar.

In addition to PD Ideas, I am also seeking Expressions of Interest from Members or associates of members, who are experts in their fields or who specialise in topics of interest that would like the opportunity to speak at upcoming ACPET events.
