Last Thursday night, the first day of the 2010 National Conference, ACPET hosted a cocktail reception for conference delegates.
The venue was the Old Melbourne Gaol and there were many wisecracks made about private providers and gaol but we'll leave those alone.
In spite of the grim surroundings members were able to relax and enjoy themselves. The night was an informal opportunity for delegates to relax from a long day at conference, with the only official business being the handing over of a donation to the Warwick Foundation.
This year in lieu of giving presenters gifts the Conference Organising Committee decided to make a donation to a charity, the Warwick Foundation. To receive the donation of $1,500 the Warick Foundation was represented at the cocktail reception by Jade McKenzie (General Manager) and Kate Sykes (Director).
The Warwick Foundation is a Non-Profit Charitable Organisation in Australia focusing on supporting young adults (18-40 years) on their cancer journey. Click here to go to the Warwick Foundation website.
