capability builders: assessment 2010 - 2011 program – applications close september 3!

National Monday Update Issue:

The Capability Builders Assessment (CB-A) program is a Queensland, VET Futures initiative developed to encourage new leaders in assessment practice.

DFEEST Quality Directorate conducted a program over 2009/2010 to build on the successes of the CB-A here in South Australia. DFEEST is offering another program during 2010/2011. Chosen participants will work with leading practitioners from the Australian tertiary sector from late October 2010 to June 2011 and the program will:

  • provide chosen participants with the capabilities needed to become lead practitioners and apply the principles of ‘assessment for learning’;
  • support participants as they apply learnings in an identified action learning project to address a systemic assessment issue. This action learning project will form the basis of their CB-A experience;
  • andengage in a network of practitioners who are able to provide specialist advice on assessment.

The CB-A program will provide participants with the capabilities needed to apply the principles of ‘assessment for learning’ in further developing programs based on the qualifications in national Training Packages and / or accredited courses.

If you are an experienced trainer, teacher or assessor working in teaching / training roles in either institutional or workplace settings in a Registered Training Organisation, please register your expression of interest for the 2010 - 2011 CB-A program.
