A record number of delegates were welcomed to the 2010 ACPET National Conference by Kay Ganley, ACPET National Chair, in the Conference Hall at the Crown Conference Centre.

Last Friday night more than 300 delegates and guests attended the 2010 ACPET National Conference Dinner to celebrate the conclusion of another very successful conference.

Last Thursday night, the first day of the 2010 National Conference, ACPET hosted a cocktail reception for conference delegates.

Concerns have been raised by many colleagues amongst the RTO community regarding the AQTF2010 requirements for trainer and assessor qualification.

The national training system’s e-learning strategy, the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework), has received the go ahead for its activities until the end of June 2011, opening up approximately $3.5m in funding opportunities for Australian registered training organisations (RTOs), business and industry to embed e-learning as a key aspect of their business strategy and tailor training to meet learners’ needs.

The gap between well paid and low paid tradespersons is widening and is most extreme in remote regions.

The ePortfolios Australia Conference will be held in Melbourne on 3-4 November 2010.

Last Monday, ACPET NSW hosted the AQTF Seminar led by ACPET’s Deputy CEO, Claire Field for NSW members. Well received by over 130 members at Sydney’s Masonic Centre, the seminar provided the background for the development of the AQTF and the key areas of change around initial registration and continuing registration of VET providers.
