The Minister for Tourism, Jodi McKay, hosted a function at Tourism NSW last week to thank members of the Joint Ministerial Taskforces that were convened as part of the NSW Tourism Strategy.
Around 45 people attended the event including representatives from the Tourism and National Parks, Tourism, Planning and Investment, Tourism and Education and Tourism and Local Government Taskforces. Members of the Tourism NSW Board also attended.
Tony Kelly, Minister for Planning, was a special guest at the event and Dr Richard Sheldrake, Director-General of Industry & Investment NSW and Barry Buffier, Deputy Director-General, State and Regional Development and Tourism also attended. All of the taskforces have delivered their reports apart from the Tourism and Local Government Taskforce which will deliver its report later this month.
The Government response to the reports is expected soon. The recommendations from the Tourism and National Parks report have been adopted.
