Last week the SA Premier Mike Rann, as Minister for Sustainability and Climate Change, signed a VET sector Agreement with ACPET and TAFE SA, committing to cooperation in responding to climate change through green skills development for SA’s workforce.
ACPET’s CEO Andrew Smith met with the Premier and representatives of TAFE SA at Parliament House Adelaide to sign the agreement.
The historic agreement will foster collaboration between ACPET and TAFE SA for SA’s VET system to deliver the vocational training and skills in sustainability that will enable SA businesses the opportunity to compete in a low carbon economy. Training will also help individuals and enterprises to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and contribute to meeting the state’s sustainability targets for climate change.
