To: ACT Tertiary Taskforce, Working Group 2 – Interactive Planning Workshop
At: Centre for Teaching and Learning, 51 Freemantle Drive, Stirling
On 30 July 2010 from 9.00 am – 12.00 pm
The ACT Tertiary Education Taskforce has established 3 working groups to report back to it on ways in which the three questions included in the recent Discussion paper, “Creating a connected ACT Tertiary Education Environment” could be answered.
Working Group 2 is focussed on the second of these:
“What needs to be strengthened for the ACT to improve school retention rates and encourage tertiary education pathways?”
The working group has interrogated this broad question at length and has extracted some key elements which will form the basis of the planned workshop. The purpose of the workshop is to focus on the opportunities and innovations that could be considered in a connected system to meet the challenges inherent in the question. In other words the “what” and “how” we can do innovative things.
It is really important that we hear from as many people and organisations as possible. The activity will be interactive and dynamic. The results will form a central core of the response to the Department of Education and Training from the ACT Tertiary Education Task Force.
