vacancy report – industry internet vacancy index

The most recent DEEWR Vacancy Report includes the new market Vacancy Index which has shown an increase in students completing their qualifications online.

Just a quick feedback regarding the statistic increased over the year to May 2010:

• The Industry Internet Vacancy Index IVI, largest increases recorded for Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (5.4%).
• The Skill Level (Qualification) IVI, largest increase occurred for Bachelor Degree and Higher (5.0%).
• The Graduate IVI increased by 30.9%, this compares with an increase of 10.5% in total online vacancies over the same period.

The increases were evident for key industries such as Construction (13.2%), Education and Training (9.0%) and Retail Trade (8.7%).
