What you said about...
Ministers acknowledge market changes in international education (NMU Article 14/06/2010)
“The matter is critical and urgent. The Government’s response will need to be very swift in addressing Australia’s loss of competitiveness if it is to have any effect on the situation our school now faces. Australian Government policies and processes in relation to the engagement of overseas students have not kept pace with those of competing countries such as the USA, Canada and NZ. The impact is being felt across the international education sector and will be catastrophic for many providers.
In 2010, our enrolment of overseas students for our secondary school programs has dropped by 90%. Our College relies on about 90% enrolment from overseas students so the situation is now critical and despite our extensive marketing efforts will continue to place significant challenges on our viability if the trend is not reversed. The College employs more than 30 teaching professionals as well as around 25 full time support staff and is thus a significant contributor to the local Southern Highlands economy.”
