acpet roundtable invitation to respond to productivity commission study on vet workforce – 15 july

National Monday Update Issue: 

The Productivity Commission is currently undertaking a study into the issues impacting on the VET workforce. ACPET will provide a report in response to this study.

Members are invited to attend a roundtable discussion in order to put forward views and opinions as part of the ACPET submission development process.

When: 15 July 2010, from 11:00 - 2:00 pm (over a light lunch)
Where: ACPET Board room, Level 1, 41 Currie Street Adelaide
Discussion chair: Ben Vivekanandan, ACPET’s Manager of Policy and Research

Key issues for discussion at the Roundtable will be:

  • demand for the workforce’s services, with particular regard to the skill sets required to meet society’s current and future needs for education and training;
  • ongoing supply of workers, in terms of numbers, knowledge and skills;
  • the workforce composition that most effectively and efficiently delivers desired educational and training outcomes;
  • appropriate directions and tools for workforce planning and development; and
  • factors of notable significance for the VET workforce.
