On Monday the 21 June at the Skills Tasmania Conference, Cindy Tschernitz facilitated a Concurrent Workshop.

Titled “Tasmania Where do we fit?”

This workshop was a follow up to the Strategic Conversations held with Private RTOs throughout the state in January 2010. Cindy started the workshop with a short presentation on National Issues and how Tasmania fits within the wider national context,, she then opened up the workshop to participants who looked at the findings from January and discussed whether the issues and challenges faced by Private RTOs had changed since then.

The outcome of the discussion were that many of the issues that had been raised had been largely sorted out but there was still some confusion around Federal and State Government funding, legislation and programs.

60 people attended the workshop, including the Chair of the Skills Tasmania Board, David Hind. All in all a great success.
