The next Modern Awards deadline is 1 July - are you ready?

Implementing the Educational Services (Post Secondary Education) Award 2010 and National Employment Standards

On 1 January, 2010 the second stage of the new industrial relations regulations was introduced as a result of the Fair Work Act 2009. Modern Awards and the National Employment Standards have come into effect with the next deadline (1 July, 2010) fast approaching. For the post-secondary private education sector, this means either the introduction of the Education Services (Post Secondary Education) Award 2010 or a transition from other instruments.

A range of questions about the interpretation and application of Modern Awards have been raised among members, particularly regarding hours, coverage, classification and transition. No doubt there are more questions to explore!

In this new era of expanded regulation and compliance, ACPET aims to assist members in understanding and implementing the new requirements.
