National Monday Update Issue: 

There are additional changes to the ESOS to improve the regulation of the international education sector.

The changes include: 

  • provider registration criteria
  • outgoing risk-based monitoring
  • conditions on providers’ registration
  • increasing the range of breaches (financial penalties)
  • publishing of industry targets and reporting of regulatory activities
  • expanding the role of the Commonwealth Ombudsman for external complaints relating to providers.
