nsw committee members welcome claire field, deputy ceo

National Monday Update Issue:

Last Wednesday the NSW State Committee welcomed new Deputy CEO, Claire Field to the ACPET team. National CEO, Andrew Smith, Manager International Engagement, Steve Quirk and International Engagement Officer, Linda Barbero were also able to attend together with new committee member, Robert Parsonson, General Manager, MEGT Institute Sydney.

The Committee covered key agenda items including

  • the state of international education, presented by Steve Quirk covering the International Engagement Strategic Plan, international education projections, Asia Pacific and China engagement strategy.
  • ACPET’s challenge to the UAC Guide to gain private higher education provider access
  • An update on the status of AQTF 2010 and the National Regulator
  • The Private Industry Education Survey
  • Progress of the NSW Premiers Council for International Education
  • NSW Training Awards
  • Developments regarding the VETAB Flying Squad Audits.

Claire’s extensive background in both policy regulation and as a provider in the tertiary sector, meant that she was be able to offer valuable insights to the expected changes that a new regulatory environment will bring when the new national regulator comes into being in early 2011.
Again thanks go to our NSW committee members who work tirelessly and selflessly to promote the private education sector.
The next NSW Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 4 August.
