nature care college provides the right balance

National Monday Update Issue:

A recent visit by NSW Member Support Officer, Sarah Rosen, to Nature Care College in St Leonard’s provided a welcome opportunity to meet with Steve Lawson, Director of Education, and the Nature Care team.

In operation since 1973, the college has many VET sector qualifications and Higher Education programs, including Naturopathy, Homoeopathy, Herbal Medicine and Nutrition. With the increasing interest in natural therapies, the College has been growing steadily, and now offers FEE-HELP for Bachelor and VET FEE-HELP for Advanced Diploma and Diploma courses.

The College is continually expanding its program and includes Continuing Professional Education, weekend workshops, self paced distance learning and short self interest courses. It also runs a supervised training clinic where student practitioners complete the required number of clinical training hours on site, as well as a job placement scheme. Students are eligible for membership to a range of Professional Associations on graduation.

According to Steve Lawson, the strengths of the college lie in its commitment to providing practical work related training. “We focus on the individual, whether student or client. We provide a growing range of courses with delivery suited to individual needs, whether self paced distance learning, set and flexible full time or part time programs or intensive weekend workshops. Our students also get many hours of practical experience through student clinic as well as being able to choose external work placement as part of the advanced diploma programs.”

“With 37 years experience in offering quality education, Nature Care has an excellent reputation within the industry which ensures our graduates are highly sought after. Significantly, over 65% of our students come to us by word of mouth. Throughout their study journey, each student is personally supported and monitored by our trainers, all of who have clinical experience and many still practice,” said Steve.

“Our college ethos is all about balance; work, life and learning, and I think we achieve that for our students and our staff every day.”
