Corporate Anthropologist Michael Henderson will draw on his vast experience of human cultures both traditional and organisational to present a fascinating and applicable master class on how to effectively lead and create an organisational culture worth belonging to, for staff and students!
The day will start with a brief introduction to why organisational culture is critical to organisational performance. Specifically it will review:
With research showing company culture has, on average, eight times more influence on performance variance than their chosen business strategy, many companies in these tougher times are realising it’s time to take company culture seriously. Who better to turn to than an Anthropologist who has spent the past 25 years mastering the ability to understand the shape and role of company culture and its impact on business performance.
Possessing a degree in Anthropology and being highly experienced and qualified in Axiology (the science of human values) means that Michael has a strong grounding in social science that ensures that his work is practical, evidence based and always focused on performance. He is acknowledged in his own field as a pioneer.
In fact his concepts and research are so innovative and ground breaking that his three books on the impact and benefits of mastering company culture and human values are best sellers. His expertise is drawn upon by Auckland University where he is the guest lecturer on company culture at Auckland University Business School.
Michael’s ideas on culture have been described as instrumental in shifting company perspectives on the role and capacity of their workplace culture. Michael suggests a misaligned culture has significant outcomes including the fact it helps your competitors, delivers or denies the brand promise, jeopardises your strategies, heavily influences staff moral and your ability to attract and retain talent, all of which show up on the bottom line.
