acpet northern australia focus group. darwin 19 july – call for nominations

National Monday Update Issue:

ACPET nationally works with governments, industry and other key stakeholders in building the capacity of the education and training sectors and the profiling of over 1000 quality and responsive member institutes.

Service reform and enhanced opportunities for education and training providers throughout Northern Australia was an underlying theme at last week’s ACPET Skilling Northern Australia Forum held in Darwin.

Indeed, one of the highlights of the forum was the presentation by Tracy Clark from the NT’s Department of Business and Employment on the Jobs NT program. The NT and northern WA are experiencing a significant resource and population boom with both skills and labour shortages and it is crucial that education and training providers play a pivotal role in supporting the needs of government, industry and their respective clients.

ACPET would like to invite interested stakeholders - RTOs, industry or broader community interest, to be a member of the ACPET Northern Australia Focus Group. While this is open to interested WA and Qld persons also it is the intention that Focus Group meetings will be held in Darwin, with the first meeting  scheduled for Monday 19 July from 3pm at the Crowne Plaza with networking drinks provided from 4.30 - 6pm.

Our thanks to those who have already expressed their interest and have provided their details to ACPET Executive Officer Michael Hall. Michael is eager to hear from others who have a capacity to contribute – please call him on 0438 463 598 or just email Michael [dot] hall [at] acpet [dot] edu [dot] au.
