NCVER’s Hugh Guthrie held court in Brisbane last Thursday over a captivated audience of VET practitioners.
Hugh gave a inspirational analysis of the significance of the VET sector and the importance of supporting vet practitioners and recognising excellence. Those present were privileged to hear Hugh’s views on the vibrancy of the vet sector and were able to participate in group discussions as to the raft of government policies, activities (...and in activities) that are providing both opportunities and challenges to this most vital of sectors.
One of the inhibitors in planning for the sector has been the lack of quantifiable data as to the size and diversity of vet in Australia. Members will be aware that ACPET is to undertake a national survey to address this. We encourage all members to support this survey as without valid and robust data it is difficult to champion the cause with our government masters.
A huge ACPET thank you to Hugh for his contributions.
