seeking feedback on draft 1: mapping chc08 children's services qualifications to the early years learning framework for australia

National Monday Update Issue:

The Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council (CS&HISC) would like to invite you to participate in a quality assurance survey on a recently developed mapping document - Mapping CHC08 Children’s Services Qualifications to the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia

The Mapping Document
The mapping document was developed by the CS&HISC in response to a request from the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) to provide evidence to demonstrate how the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) is reflected in the endorsed Children’s Services qualifications in the Community Services CHC08 Training Package.  More specifically, the following CHC08 Children’s Services qualifications, which prepare workers involved specifically in working with children from birth to five years of age, were included in the mapping:
  • CHC30708 Certificate III in Children’s Services
  • CHC50908 Diploma of Children’s Services (Early childhood education and care)

The Early Years Learning Framework
In 2009, the Council of Australian Governments developed the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) to assist educators to provide young children (from birth to five years) with opportunities to maximise their potential and develop a foundation for future success in learning. This is Australia’s first national EYLF for early childhood educators.

Survey
This survey is designed to gather industry feedback on the accuracy, usefulness, and user-friendliness of the Mapping Document. It contains four questions and is designed for Employers, Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), associations and other relevant bodies within the Children’s Services sector.

Your feedback collected through this survey is extremely valuable and will be used to inform both further drafts of, and industry support of, the Mapping Document.

Please note that due to the size of the supporting documentation for this survey (the EYLF, and Mapping Document), the survey is only accessible online through the CS&HISC website.  Please follow the instructions below to complete the survey.
