private education industry survey

National Monday Update Issue:

Today ACPET is launching a Private Education Industry Survey. This is a major initiative that will seek to determine the size and contribution of private providers to the tertiary education industry. An email will be sent to all Members today which will contain an invitation to participate and a link to the survey.

ACPET is becoming increasingly concerned at the formation of Government policy without appropriate consideration of how the policy will affect private providers and the vital role our industry plays in training, educating and skilling Australia’s workforce. Accordingly there is an urgent and pressing need for private providers to quantify their contribution to the overall industry. ACPET has engaged WHK Horwath to manage the survey and report findings that will fill the data void that currently exists.

A high level of participation will underwrite the credibility of the survey results. Members participation in the survey will assist ACPET to strengthen the private providers’ position in the industry.

The survey will be open for data input from 31 May 2010 until 11 June 2010 and is open to all private providers in Australia.
Due to the confidentially imperatives surrounding the collection of data ACPET has engaged an independent third party to manage the survey. Participant’s data will be collected and stored in a safe and secure manner by WHK Horwath and extrapolated to determine the size and contribution of the private providers to the tertiary education industry. The information Members provide in the survey will not be released to any institution including ACPET. Confidentiality of information is of paramount importance to ACPET which is why we have engaged WHK Horwath, to collect and control the data.

WHK Horwath is part of the publicly listed WHK Group Limited with 20 firms, 130 offices and over 3,200 staff in Australia and New Zealand. WHK Group is the fifth largest accounting business in Australasia.
