nsw members sought to celebrate ‘corporate social responsibility’

National Monday Update Issue:

NSW members are invited to share their ideas and strategies on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

ACPET NSW is looking to identify social and environmental initiatives that demonstrate a civic responsibility that contributes positively to the community. Such activities may range from sponsorships, donations, community grants and scholarships, and the implementation of environmentally responsible work practices.

It is known that many providers already have CSR programs in place while others may be looking at developing their own strategies. ACPET NSW is sourcing good practice examples that providers may want to share including:

  • social inclusion activities for students such as excursions to the Hunter Valley as part of their studies, organizing dance parties just for fun or participating in inter college competitions
  • access and equity strategies for disadvantaged students
  • community based activities such as fund raising and charity events
  • company staff and student involvement in fun runs, Cancer Council Morning Tea’s and the like
  • company driven initiatives promoting environmental awareness internally through recycling and energy conservation or supporting external activities such as Clean Up Australia Day

There are many activities that providers are already undertaking that deserve recognition.

If you are interested in sharing your idea’s or telling your story please contact Sarah Rosen, NSW Member Support Officer on 8280 8105 or sarh [dot] rosen [at] acpet [dot] edu [dot] au (by email).
