National Monday Update Issue:
The Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council (CSHISC) are seeking feedback on the impact of policy changes affecting the Health and Community Services Training Packages.
The NQC recently introduced new requirements which will affect the Packaging Rules of all qualifications in all Training Packages. As a result the CSHISC is undertaking stakeholder consultation regarding the Health and the Community Services Training Packages to realign ‘high use qualifications’, as identified by the NQC, to meet implementation timeframes of 30 June 2010.
The policy changes specify that all Training Package qualifications must:
- Include a minimum number of electives - ONE THIRD or more of the total number of units required to gain a qualification must be electives
- Allow a broader choice of electives - ONE SIXTH of the total units available must be able to be selected from ‘other qualifications in the same Training Package, other Training Packages and accredited courses’
Industry feedback and advice is essential for the CSHISC to ensure the integrity of qualifications is maintained while implementing these changes. Due to these tight timeframes, CSHISC need your feedback submitted by Tuesday 1 June 2010.
This is your last opportunity to provide input on these changes being made to the Health and the Community Services Training Packages. These Training Package changes will affect how and what courses you deliver.
ACPET strongly encourages Members to give feedback to CSHISC. Please visit the ISC
