Photography Studies College (PSC) student Deb Mullins, scooped the student category in the recent Victorian photography industry awards for 2010.

More than one hundred guests representing industry and the private education sector joined Adelaide Lord Mayor Michael Harbison last Wednesday to acknowledge ACPET for its contribution to education and training in South Australia.

Shafton’s L’Academie in Spring Hill was the venue on Thursday night for a corporate gathering to launch the LoveBites program, with over 100 guests enjoying the superb Shafston hospitality and cuisine.

ACPET Membership Office easier to contact via new 1800 number
You can now contact the Membership Office easily via a new toll-free number 1800 number that has recently been set up.
 

The NQC secretariat has notified IBSA that the Training and Education Training Package was endorsed by NQC members at its meeting of the 12th May 2010.

The Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council (CSHISC) are seeking feedback on the impact of policy changes affecting the Health and Community Services Training Packages.

Being able to electronically verify learner information, such as educational qualifications, has the potential to help streamline employment applications, course admissions and RPL (recognition of prior learning) processes.  

e-Portfolios Australia Conference 2010 (EAC2010) will bring together national and international educators and thought leaders from the vocational education and training (VET), higher education (universities) and adult community education (ACE) sectors to showcase current e-portfolio practice.

The 2011 round of the Endeavour Awards is now open and will close on 31 July 2010.

Registration is now open for the next session in the Flexible Learning Toolbox Workshop PD program. 

ACT Education & Training Minister, Andrew Barr MLA has made the unprecedented request for an opportunity to informally get together with ACPET Members next month for a drink and to chat about the ACT’s medium to long term strategic direction in Education and Training.

The ACT Accreditation and Registration Council (ARC) will be holding its next Provider Forum Breakfast on Wednesday 9 June 2010.

Minister for Education and Training Andrew Barr announced a high level taskforce last week to consult with the Canberra community on the future of skills and tertiary training in the ACT.

New South Wales

Jazzworx! Music Institute has now been approved to offer FEE-HELP, having been given Higher Education Approval on 7 May, 2010.

The findings of a senate inquiry into the welfare of international students have commended member the Australian Homestay Network (AHN) on its dedication to ensuring appropriate industry standards are met.
