Good news has come through from the World Skills Australia finals where 2 out of the 5 College representatives from Australian Trade College North Brisbane have gained medals!!!!

Bedford College in Glebe has been in operation for 66 years and is today a leading private provider of Business and Child Care courses (Accounting to commence in 2011).

Federal Budget 2010-2011

Last week VETAB held its second series of Flying Squad Audit (FSA) workshops for VET CRICOS RTO’s delivering to international students. With the first round of audits nearing completion, the second round is due to commence from the beginning of June.

To assist trainers to embed innovation skills development into their training methodology, IBSA has developed a Facilitator Guide for trainers in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) system.

Senate report: 'Hear us' - Now we need action

The Strategy and Research Unit, Queensland VET Development Centre (formerly Product Services) in the Department of Education and Training will be hosting a discussion forum to inform the design and implementation of the Professional Development Strategy for the Queensland Vocational Educational and Training (VET) Sector 2011 – 2013.

The University of South Queensland, in conjunction with ACPET, DET and Careers Australia are undertaking a project to identify enhancements to articulation pathways for students.

Places are still available for VET Workforce and Professional Development workshops (in Brisbane & Cairns) & TEA10 Implementation and Implications (in Cairns only)!

A two day forum focusing on matters relating to skilling, training, professional development, student engagement and workforce planning in Northern Australia.

The aim of this workshop is to explore strategies for interacting and communicating with students from Indian backgrounds.

SA Multicultural Events Calendar 2010

Victoria

Nic Mardling, Managing Director of Student Training Hospitality Services and member of the ACPET Victoria State Committee, presented a very enlightening session on how to enter and deliver “VET in Schools” seminar to Victorian members.

WorkSafe Victoria’s pioneering WorkHealth program has delivered more than 130,000 free WorkHealth checks to workers across Victoria since it was launched last year, and more than 9,000 organisations are now on board with the program.

The purpose of this notification is to invite your organisation to attend one of the information sessions regarding the Victorian Student Number (VSN), scheduled for late May and early June in various Victorian locations.

ACPET is the Peak Body for private education throughout Australia. In Victoria we represent private training providers on many state and federal government committees, working groups and networks.
