vale daisy? call for welders!

National Monday Update Issue:

Over the past twelve months members have followed the exploits of Daisy ACPET's 2009 entry in the XXXX Gold Variety Bash – The Children’s Charity.

Thanks to the generosity of ACPET members and friends, Daisy not only raised many thousands of dollars for the charity but also managed to trek from Brisbane via Townsville, Undara, Hughenden, Winton, Mt Isa and Urandangi before tragedy (in the form of a ditch that suddenly appeared) halted her in her pursuit of fame in crossing the finishing line in Alice Springs.

Daisy has been languishing at the Australian Technical and Trade College who have advised that without some work to remove rust in the chassis Daisy will not be making another appearance.

Already Daisy has managed to raise over $10,000 this year and we now need help from members or supporters to get her frocked up for this year’s Bash from Southport to Port Douglas.

Donations of services or funds are gratefully appreciated. Please note that monies to Variety are tax deductable however support funds for the car are not. We are looking for a provider or two that can assist in the first instance the removal of the rust.

While we appreciate donations in kind or similar, we appreciate that there may be some costs involved that we are happy to compensate for.

If any providers can assist please email michael [dot] hall [at] acpet [dot] edu [dot] au (Michael Hall)
