packed agenda for acpet nsw state committee meeting

National Monday Update Issue:

Last Wednesday 5 May, the NSW State Committee convened its 2nd meeting for 2010.

As always, there was robust discussion between committee members around a number of hot topics and issues dear to the member’s hearts.

Some key agenda items included:

  • Skilled migration review – MODL, SOL and Points Test Review
  • Baird and ESOS Reviews
  • ACPET International Student Benchmark
  • NSW VET Update including Productivity Places Program, User Choice Program, Apprenticeships and Traineeships
  • Regulatory issues imploding on member RTOs
    • progress on ‘NSW Flying Squad’ Audits of CRICOS VET providers
  • Higher Education & ‘ACPET Benchmarking Tool’ for members
  • ACPET PR/communication strategies

ACPET would like to take this opportunity to thank committee members for their continued and tireless efforts to represent the interests of all NSW members locally and nationally.

Further to this, ACPET we would also like to thank and farewell, Dr Robyn Tudor and Anthony Bohm who recently resigned from the Committee. Dr Tudor was a founding member and has served on the committee for over 10 years.

She had this to say:
“Over the last decade, I have been privileged to witness exponential growth in private education and training in NSW and across Australia, most notable in terms of size, scope, prosperity, professionalism and increasing community respect. I thank ACPET for the opportunities it has provided for me to make a sustained professional commitment of energy and expertise in support of quality educational provision – especially in VET in Schools, Vocational and Higher Education programs of study in the Creative Industries.”

Robyn will be sorely missed by all. We wish her and Anthony all the best!

The next NSW Committee Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 23 June 2010.
