National Monday Update Issue:
The NSW Board of Studies is currently consulting on a new Higher School Certificate (HSC) Human Services Curriculum Framework (syllabus).
The draft Human Services Curriculum Framework is based on the national Community Services Training Package (CHC08) and Health Training Package (HLT07) and provides pathways to:
- Certificate III in Aged Care (CHC30208)
- Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance (HLT32407)
- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (HLT32507).
The new syllabus will replace existing Board endorsed courses in these industry areas. It is planned that Year 11 students will start studying the new syllabus from 2011.

Interested stakeholders can participate in the consultation in a variety of ways including face-to-face meetings, videoconferences or telephone conference, completing a survey or making a submission by email.

Consultation responses are due to the Board of Studies by 28 May 2010.
Overview documents have been developed to describe the key aspects of the draft Framework from the point of view of the three qualification pathways available in the draft syllabus. These are also attached to this email.
