Carrick Education Group celebrated its first anniversary in Adelaide recently with a large birthday cake to acknowledge the steady growth of the Adelaide Campus.
“It’s great to see the growth in student numbers and cultural diversity of our student base” said company founder and Managing Director, Catherine Carrick. “Monica Joshi, our first English language student commenced with us on 18 May last year and we started from there. Since then we have grown our English Language program to 107 students and Monica is well into her Certificate III in Hairdressing.” “Our vocational and higher education programs in Business, Marketing, Community Welfare, Accounting and Hospitality have grown from a handful of students to over 230 students across all programs.
“Whilst we are a large provider with campuses in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, we really are small on the inside” says Campus Director, Jane Mitchell. "Our students feel valued by all staff and fellow students because we have created a culturally respectful and dynamic environment for students to study in.”
“Our students come from across the globe, including those from United Kingdom, Italy, Brazil, Korea, India, Poland and China. We specifically encourage local students and have helped many to access the VET fee help scheme which enables those students who meet specific criteria to study now and defer payment of their fees until they are earning a reasonable level of income.”
"I believe another plank of our success is having tutors who are industry practitioners; our hairdressers work in salons, business trainers in public relations and associated areas, tourism and hospitality in events. We even have one staff member who managed a hospitality team in Vancouver at the winter Olympics; she will be sharing her real learning experiences with our tourism and events students. Isn’t that great?”
“Adelaide has some great advantages for local, interstate and international students; from the safe streets, very friendly and helpful people to the great facilities around the CBD. We are very much a student city with an enviable reputation internationally. “Our Campus on North Terrace is well located and provides convenient access to all students” said Jane.
