1. VET Workforce – Productivity Commission Study
The Education and Training Workforce study is currently focusing on the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. A report will be submitted to the Australian Government in April 2011.
The Commission has been asked to consider both the VET workforce as a whole - including trainers and assessors in enterprises, adult community education and community organisations - and provide advice on:

2. Higher Education Governance and Quality Assurance
The Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA) has developed a set of draft guidelines, entitled Academic Governance and Quality Assurance: Good Practice for NSAIs.
AUQA has asked stakeholders to provide comment on the guidelines and ACPET will develop a submission as part of this process. 3. Retail Services Training Package - input sought from providers of retail and wholesale training
Service Skills Australia has released a discussion paper to allow RTOs and other stakeholders to provide input into the further skills and knowledge requirements for the retail and wholesale industry sectors. The discussion paper raises skills requirements relating to: customer service; technology; sustainability; merchandising; and management.
