member visits – nsw hits the road

National Monday Update Issue:

Since starting at ACPET earlier this year, NSW Member Support Officer, Sarah Rosen, has been making her way around our Sydney based members talking to PEO’s and other senior executives about the issues and challenges facing private providers in the current market.

So far she has been to see Ella Bache, Evolution, Academies Australasia, AICL, ABC College, MEGT, Vocational Study Australia, Australian Institute of Fitness, Balfour College, The Hotel School, Kent Institute, Abbey College, Think Education, Australian Pacific College, Hostec and the Whitehouse Institute. Sarah stated “I have found the visits a great way to get a sound understanding of the issues concerning private providers while establishing contact and developing relationships with our members. With almost 300 members throughout NSW, it will take me a while to get around to visit them all! Of course regional visits are on the schedule to commence in the coming months.” This week she has met with AIT, MEGA and the Australasian College of Nails, Beauty, Makeup and Hair.

Members have been very forthcoming about their concerns regarding what is happening in their industry for both International and domestic students. A level playing field with the public sector, compliance and the ongoing demands of the audit process, consistent and cohesive government policy, uniform regulation across state borders and sectors and collaboration with industry and recognition of the quality providers are just some of the key issues.

According to Sarah, “many colleges are doing terrific things; opening new sites, securing FEE HELP, becoming Higher Education Providers, actively engaging students in social integration projects such as dance parties, excursions, fund raising and local community based activities. Our members are always busy undertaking new projects while navigating a changing market, showing resilience and determination to deliver the quality education our industry expects.”

Please contact Sarah on 02 8280 8105 if you would like to arrange for a visit or have any concerns that she can assist you with.
