training packages update - service skills

Retail Services: SIR07 V1.1
Please be advised that the following upgrades have been made to the SIR07 Retail Services training package. Imported units:

• BSB01 Business Services Training Package replaced by updated versions from BSB07 Business Services Training Package.
• THH02 Hospitality Training Package replaced by updated versions from SIT07 V2 Tourism, Hospitality and Events Training Package.

Sport, Fitness and Recreation
Feedback on Certificate III, IV and Diploma of Fitness units of competency has been analysed and units and qualifications have been reviewed by the Fitness Training Package Reference Group (FTPRG).

Feedback received from the FTPRG is currently being incorporated into units and qualifications. Final versions of Fitness units of competency and qualifications will be available shortly.

Outdoor Recreation and Sport units of competency are under final review, with final updates currently underway. Community Recreation units and qualifications are now in their final draft. The Sport, Fitness and Recreation Training Package is expected to be submitted to the National Quality Council for endorsement by June/July 2010.

Continuous Improvement of WRH06 Hairdressing Training Package
The Recommended Actions Report is now available for downloading.

As part of the scoping stage of the continuous improvement process, a discussion paper was released in November 2009 seeking feedback on the current Training Package and areas for improvement.

A report that contains a summary of the feedback and findings gathered through the scoping stage and has been developed and is now available. The report includes recommended actions to be undertaken toward the improvement of the Training Package and will be available on Service Skills website
