To celebrate Harmony Day 2010 CHARLTON BROWN®'s students and staff took part in a shared morning tea on Friday 19 March.
Managed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC), Harmony Day is part of the Diverse Australia Program and celebrates the cohesive and inclusive nature of Australia and promotes the benefits of cultural diversity.
CHARLTON BROWN® has a diverse cohort of staff and students from Japan, Korea, Ukraine, India, Nepal and the Philippines. Students and staff were encouraged to bring along a plate of traditional food to share at the morning tea, and wear their national costume.
Trevor Ganley, Director of CHARLTON BROWN® said 'A shared morning tea was the perfect was to celebrate Harmony Day and the diversity of the students and staff at the college'. While there were some Aussie favourites including lamingtons and Tim Tams, it was the multicultural treats, such as the spiced chicken and samosas, which proved to be the hot favourites.
