1. $481,200 funding for SA e-learning innovation
$481,200 has been awarded to develop and manage 13 projects that will deliver innovative e-learning training solutions in South Australia in 2010.
The funding and support, provided by the Australian Flexible Learning Framework assists registered training organizations develop innovative e-learning solutions to better meet the training needs of businesses and individuals.
This year's E-learning Innovations projects will focus on either:
- supporting business-training provider partnerships that can drive the integration of e-learning into business and training
- empowering learners through projects which target the needs of individuals in the community or existing and future students of the RTO.
Projects were selected on their ability to address South Australian skills shortage areas, such as the health and community services, agriculture, engineering and mechanical industries; and emerging areas in mining and defence.

2. E-Skills April/May e-learning workshops
E-skills is a new not-for-profit business offering market driven, affordable e-skills development services to assist organisations and individuals achieve their e-learning and business goals. You can find out more about the background of e-Skills here.
In April and May E-Skills presents a series of workshops on a variety of e-learning subjects, including Moodle, Introduction to Video and Powerpoint.

3. Free e-learning advice and resources to enhance your business
Are you looking for a new edge to your training? One that allows you to improve the quality while keeping costs low and giving your learners a new and engaging way to learn?
The Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework) helps training providers around the country to make the most of e-learning. As a government-funded strategy, they provide a free service which can help tailor an e-learning solution to meet your particular business needs.

4. 2010 E-portfolios funding for E-portfolio Implementation Trials
Funding will be made available again in 2010 for the E-portfolios Implementation Trials to investigate and identify the factors that contribute to the successful implementation of an e-portfolio system which supports learner transitions.

A total of $25,000 will be available for three trials, with a maximum amount of $9,000 for any individual RTO. The funded amount will need to be matched by the successful RTO; however, this may be in kind, e.g. staff time, use of organisational resources, etc.

6. New Series 12 Toolboxes released
Five Flexible Learning Toolboxes (Toolboxes) have just been released as part of the Australian Flexible Learning Framework’s (Framework) Series 12 Toolboxes.
Tried and tested over many years, these interactive e-learning and assessment resources can be customised cheaply and easily to form complete training programs that match individual training needs.
Toolboxes can be purchased from TVET Australia (these are low cost resources costing approximately $400), or the learning objects from these Toolboxes can be downloaded for free through the Toolbox Repository.
Toolbox Champions operate in all states and territories, assisting you to successfully implement and customise Toolboxes. They provide free advice, mentoring and professional development for Toolboxes. Visit: http://flexiblelearning.net.au/toolbox/champions for details.
