act e learning 2010 projects announced

National Monday Update Issue: 

The Australian Flexible Learning Framework has awarded $259,200 to develop and manage eight projects that will deliver innovative e-learning training solutions in the ACT in 2010.


Project funding and support has been awarded to registered training organisations based on their ability to either:

  • support business-training provider partnerships that can drive the integration of e-learning into business and training
  • empower learners through projects which target the needs of individuals in the community or existing and future students of the RTO.
     

The below table outlines the full list of awarded projects in the ACT.

This project will use an e-learning solution, with an m-learning addition, to create a more flexible model for delivery of the Certificate III in Information Technology to the client's trainees.

This project will maximise the 'theory block' that baking apprentices usually spend in class, by flexibly delivering the weighing and measurement math components. This project will explore the use of point-of-view (POV) glasses.

Online assessment materials for aged care

This project will develop a variety of online assessment tools for mature age people and ESL learners to use in assessing the unit of competency Work effectively with older people.

Online pathway planning
This project will establish an online study and employment pathway planning package for CIT Vocational college students. Each student will have a personal customised pathway planning space, where they will work on their pathway with the Student Advice Team and their teachers.

A guide to developing online learning for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
CIT's Yurauna Centre will engage and develop the literacy and numeracy skills of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders with engaging online learning tools and strategies for the Learning Options Program.

This project will empower people in small business to recognise and be recognised for what they may already know about using and protecting their intellectual property.
