The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations has funded the Society for Knowledge Economics to undertake research into the Leadership, Culture and Management practices of High Performing Workplaces in Australia’s services industry.
The project is a key element of the Federal Government’s “Workplace of the Future” agenda, the subject of a forum hosted by the Deputy Prime Minister, the Hon Julia Gillard MP in July 2009. In her words:
"...to truly unlock the productivity of our nation … we need workplace leadership and the requisite cultures and skills that ...encourage innovation, employee engagement and cooperation in our workplaces." (Julia Gillard)
IBSA Chair John Vines, member of the high profile project’s Steering Committee says:
“This is an opportunity for IBSA’s stakeholders to get involved in a broad-ranging project that will benchmark their performance against others and potentially provide them with tools to develop leadership and build workforce capability”
Companies large and small from the services industry can become involved by contacting the Society for Knowledge Economics and registering. By participating in the project, you will gain insights into your performance and others not available through any other source.
The project has two phases, the first is a diagnostic phase to obtain information about your firm’s leadership, culture and management practices. Participants will receive benchmarked information about your firm’s performance (note: all firm information is kept 100% confidential as per University Ethics. Clearance and not shared with anyone except you). There is no cost to participate in this phase.
The second stage is by invitation only, and will involve you and your top management working with a top tier consulting organisation and the UNSW research team over a period of twelve months to implement a series of strategies designed to lift firm performance (this will involve a nominal fee).
To take part, and find out how good you and your company really are, call the Society for Knowledge Economics on 02 9385 7514 or visit the website at www.ske.org.au/highperformance and fill in the registration form. Places are limited.
